Yoga Nidra – I

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a guided meditation technique, performed in savasana or resting position on your back. This guided meditation guides you through 5 stages to allow you to reboot and end the practice feeling completely rejuvenated.

Restorative Yoga – I

This class is designed with gentle floor based sequences using bolsters, blankets, and props that support the practitioner to fully relax the muscles, slow down the mental activity of the brain, shift emotional patterns, bring ease to the breath, and tune into the nervous system’s healing capacity.  This hour long class is perfect for any age or level student.

Therapeutic Yoga – I

Therapeutic yoga classes are gentle and include yoga poses modified to individual’s needs, gentle movement sequences to help improve the body’s movement patterns, yogic breath techniques, and guided relaxation.  Each class is structured to address a region or system of the body that may need balancing for better health and well being.

These classes are appropriate for individuals with musculoskeletal dis-ease or injury, neuromuscular issues, chronic pain, balance or movement deficits, anxiety or depression, respiratory issues, or other imbalances or dysfunctions that individuals may suffer.

Mindfulness Yoga – I – Gentle Joints

This class incorporates yoga postures, gentle movement sequences, breath work, supported silent meditation, and guided relaxation to support increased awareness and mindfulness of the breath and body, and quieting of the nervous system.  This class is a gentle joints practice, so there is no weight bearing through the knees or wrists.  Chairs are available.

Chair Yoga – Mixed levels

This chair-based Yoga Class will offer the benefits of our other yoga classes but use a chair as a prop for support, balance, or advancing the pose as appropriate for each student.  A series of options are given for each posture to allow students to find the optimal balance between support and challenge to meet them where they are at the moment.  This class will incorporate an exploration of alignment, strength, balance, flexibility, breath, and relaxation.  All are welcome to this class.  No Yoga experience needed.

Yin Yoga – Mixed levels

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice focused on applying moderate stress to the connective tissues – tendons, fascia, and ligaments – with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.  Most stretches and poses are mat based and tend to be held for longer periods of time. This meditative approach to yoga helps cultivate awareness of one’s inner stillness.

Sen Yoga – Mixed levels

Sen Yoga is influenced by traditional Thai Yoga.  During this mat based practice a blend of self-massage techniques, gentle rhythmic movements, and held stretches will be used to compress and stretch the muscles and connective tissues improving circulation and flexibility.  Supported insight meditation is offered throughout the practice offering the opportunity to observe patterns in the physical body and mind.

Gentle Flow Yoga – II

Gentle Flow Yoga is geared specifically for those new to yoga or those who are interested in a gentle practice.  This class incorporates simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower paced movements focusing on alignment, strength, balance, and flexibility.  Each class will end with an extended period of relaxation.  This class is appropriate for anyone of any age, shape or size. No experience or flexibility required.

Moderate Flow Yoga – Level III

This flow class focuses on the fundamental yoga poses that make up a well-rounded yoga practice. Emphasis is placed on safe and effective alignment during poses and during the transitions between poses. Individuals new to yoga, and those who have been practicing for years will enjoy deepening their understanding of these core poses and the effects they can have on the body, breath, emotions, thoughts, and sense of becoming more centered. This class can be moderately vigorous as individuals flow from one pose to the next guided by their breath and the supportive guidance of the instructor.

Evening Flow – II/III

Evening Flow Yoga is comparable to Moderate Flow Yoga but dialed down a notch honoring individuals’ energetic levels at the end of the day.  This class allows you to arrive and enjoy quiet stillness, move the body and burn off excess energy, and wind down to a deeper state of relaxation as you prepare for your evening.

Morning Flow Yoga – III

Morning Flow Yoga is comparable to Moderate Flow Yoga honoring individuals’ energetic levels earlier in the morning. This class allows you to arrive and enjoy quiet stillness, warm up and energize the body, and leave class ready to enter the rest of your day with vitality and equanimity.

Fit Flow Yoga – III

This “No OM zone” class focuses on building strength, stamina, and flexibility in the physical body.  It is appropriate for those new to Yoga as well as those with plenty of yoga experience – options and modifications are always offered.  Each class starts with a flowing series to warm up the spine and heat up the body, followed by a series of held postures to build strength, stability, and stamina.  Class ends with gentle stretches to improve flexibility.

Flow Yoga – Level IV

Our flow class invites further exploration of yoga and the body, mind, and spirit by broadening your exposure to a variety of yoga poses and their variations.  This class is appropriate for individuals who have some yoga experience, or at least a good understanding of their body and how it moves.  Flow is a vigorous class where the movements are connected to each other in a flowing manner, and linking movement with the breath is a primary focus.  Beginners are welcome and will be encouraged to pace themselves and focus on mastering the basic poses before moving onto the more complex poses.

“The power of love to change bodies is legendary, built into folklore, common sense, and everyday experience. Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter around … Throughout history, “tender loving care” has uniformly been recognized as a valuable element in healing.” ~Larry Dossey
