The Tula Institute of Yoga 200-Hour Yoga Intensive Teacher Training

This program is a comprehensive Yoga Alliance approved 200-hour level program, perfect for students wishing to deepen their study and practice of yoga, those aspiring to become Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT), and helping professionals who would like to incorporate the benefits of yoga into their profession.

Upcoming trainings:

Midcoast Maine, Camden, Maine: TBA – 2023

This yoga intensive teacher training is a Vinyasa yoga-based training with a focus on making Vinyasa accessible to a spectrum of body types and individual needs, resulting in a well-balanced understanding of yoga for health and healing at all levels of the being. The curriculum includes an in-depth study and understanding of asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breathwork), meditation, philosophy, anatomy, as well as self-inquiry.

Through this program you will have the opportunity to deepen your connection to self and others, as you increase strength and suppleness in your physical body. You will experience greater calm and equanimity of your thoughts and emotions, and connect with a sense of greater ease and joy of the spirit.

Whether your intention is to deepen your own practice or to share yoga with others, through this training you will gain an understanding of proper technique , alignment, and sequencing of asana, and the role of the eight limbs of yoga in finding greater ease in your life and supporting others in doing the same.

The Tula Institute 200-hour training includes 160-hours of in-person training and 40 hours of online training. While students are encouraged to complete all portions of the training concurrently, the 2 online modules (20 hour Yoga Anatomy & Movement, and 20 hour Yoga Philosophy) may be taken separately. If you wish to receive your Yoga Teacher certification you must complete all of the in person hours and online hours within 2 years of beginning your 1st module.

All training sessions, in person and online, are offered on weekends to allow you to continue to work and participate in your week-to-week life while completing the training. Weekend sessions are spaced out every 3-5 weeks allowing you time to integrate what you learn into your regular yoga practice and day-to-day life. The online yoga anatomy and yoga philosophy sessions allow you to study these topics from the comfort of your home and include 20 90-minute live stream classes held on Saturdays, and 20 30-minute on-demand supporting videos. (For specific information on the individual online sessions please visit our events page).

Between in person training weekends, you are expected to maintain a regular yoga practice and will have 2-4 hours of OMwork assignments. Upon completion of this 200 hour training you will receive your Tula Institute of Yoga Teacher Certification and be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher). Tula Institute of Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance.

* During the COVID-19 pandemic, allowances will be made if greater than two years are needed to complete all three modules.

Testimonials:

“The 200hr-YTT program at Posabilities, AKA the Tula Institute, has been a place of support, personal growth and a deeper understanding of what Yoga is. The level of training and attention to detail provided by Katey was lovingly presented and thorough. I feel not only ready to teach others, more importantly, I feel like a better person connected to who I really am, who I want to be, and how I want to show up in the world. Her understanding and teaching of anatomy and physiology make her an expert on how to move the body in safe and beneficial ways, and that level of teaching is not typical in other YTT programs.” -Rose H

“My 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Tula Institute of Yoga was more than I could have anticipated. Katey is a wonderful person and extremely knowledgeable teacher. Her vast knowledge in many areas has made a huge difference in the level of confidence I have as a new teacher. She made us trainees feel very supported and created an extremely supportive atmosphere in which we could so easily learn and grow. Our group deeply bonded from the get-go, and I believe that was thanks to the environment Katey created.” -Ree R
